Heavenly Tree

I had wondered in the silence
About why the pain is so intense
On days like this, it is relentless
With no one to share the burden no less

I encompass all that is, was, and will be
And stand there like a fortuitous tree
Wondering if anyone will notice
A tree standing alone on the precipice

There’s only so much I can tolerate as a man
As I endure torture over a century’s span
I say no more, and it comes anyway so swiftly
I am suffering for you, very intently

I whisper in the silence and I hear a roar
Oh my heart, it is so heavenly so I soar
Above all that is, was, and will ever be
Just me as some heavenly tree

So let me mourn the loss of mortality
And live according to the God Almighty
I have drunk the cup of suffering long enough
To let God’s wrath be a permanent buff

I whisk away what I see as dismay
And feel the suffering for it today
To learn it was meant to be
But you were never given it, to see
