She opened my heart mid-flight
Dancing on my heartstrings her delight
I dropped lover’s lines unrelenting
And was ostracized just for being
I never wanted this to be so cold
And that my poems are getting old
All I can do is think about you and hope
That one day I will finally cope
I gave my life for you and your love
Do not expect or want what you shove
But you shoulder a burden you should not
And put me in with the discarded lot
Despite all that you are the jewel I found
Love and compassion intimately bound
I adore love and you have got it all
Such love inside and I will never fall
