I once was bold before the Lord
Brandishing love like a sword
I fell my enemies with compassion
Loved them to a passion
Just like a blind beggar I beg you
Love me back I tell you
Is that too much to ask?
To put someone to task?
The Lord saw my boldness
Stopped me before foolishness
And set my small heart on fire
It burns always under the wire
Now with my heart burning
While the world is churning
I tell you now to repent
My whole life is utterly spent
